wow! good thing that these guys came PREPARED! lol That is one hell of a video. (too bad the sound quality wasn't better)
Daniel
I would have freaked out, this guy remained pretty calm, and his friends are awesome, found him really fast. I'm so happy he made it out.
TannerGr8rix
I've had a snow cave collapse on me once. I was only buried for about 30 seconds (not much snow really). I can still barely imagine what this guy went through. He's one lucky guy.

Lindsey
That's amazing. That guy is seriously lucky. The sky looks so amazing, too :)

avalanche beacons and arc'teryx jackets ftw!
Drago
Wow, I feel for that guy. I can't imagine what he went through, buried in the snow for 6 minutes. Kudos!
DV
I might be wrong but that looks like part of Revelstoke Ski hill in B.C.
ASASASAS
i wanna know what the fuck that dude is saying at the end xD
ill_eagle
Pure joy in that guys voice at the end.
"WOOO! WOOO! WOOOHOO!"
onlyone1990
Holy crap I started hyperventilating watching that...
Though yeah I really do want to know what he was saying towards the end lol
Steep Gradient
yep, I had feelings of claustrophobia just watching it.
Branpera
I couldn't even watch the whole vidio I was so afraid what was going to happen to him
exa
love how I can make out some of his noises as a celebratory "wooo" when he shakes his hands around. You can just tell how relieved he is when he does that.
How long was he under? How long do people die in avalanches?
Ryan Jones
i think its like 15 minutes when they start to show the major signs of hypothermia.

MrJohnson168
that made my day to see someone escape death and have an experience like that.
Chris
it was hard to grasp that that was really a real video of some guy who just about lost his life but once he was crying in joy at seeing his friends and when they uncover the camera and the sky looks like that right in his face it was like "HOLY CRAP"
Steep Gradient
Did anybody else besides me get claustrophobic anxiety from that vid?
CINDERElla_R
I got claustrophobic and started hyperventilating a bit...that dude is really lucky to be alive.
TheDenHeijer
i sure did
ittybittysnuggles
Yes!!!! I did!
Yup
Sure did. Claustrophobic at the end, acrophobic at the start.
:3
I'd rather board than skee :/ that way if an avalanche comes down i won't risk tripping and snapping my leg.
jaffa
ive skiied in avalanche zones before, tho never been caught in a 'bad' one. but your supposed to basically point your skis straight down, if he had he would'nt have been caught, if you ever have that happen to you dont try to stop, because otherwise you fall with the snow.
:3
wow when he comes out he sounds like hes choaking down and giant dick or he is a frozen Michale Jackson HEEEEheeOOoOuuWOOOoo
SUPERDAD
the snowflake was just a sign of Chuck Norris FARTING!
Josh
that shit was deep, you can hear how long it took to dig down to him.. sheeit.
ittybittysnuggles
Oh my god!!! I had to fast forward the video when he was under the snow. That must have been so horrible! This is why I lived in Utah most my life and never took up skiing or boarding. Why are people calling this guy a douche for getting stuck in an avalanche? Seriously, guys?
Titanic_spaz
The guy getting buried is Chris Cardello.
Chris described it like this: “When the slide propagated, I tried to remain as composed as possible and make sure my AvaLung was in. As I was getting buried and the slide slowed, I threw one hand up and with my other hand I grasped the AvaLung, which had been ripped out of my mouth during the turbulent ride. While I was buried, I tried to be as calm as possible—I knew my hand was exposed so my crew would be digging me out shortly. I was able to breathe through the AvaLung, but it was difficult due to the snow jammed down my throat.”
wtf are you talking about, bc skiing could be a new sport? it is a sport already homo
Skiing
There is already a sport douche...it is called skiing
Douche who calls people douche
He was referring to gettin stuck in an avalanche as a sport. douche boy.
skeptic
i love skiing
Trine Køhler
Is this on youtube? cant find it.. this guy is absolutely amazing! i did'nt even realize what was happening when i saw it on phil's video, but when i saw this i litterally put my hands up in front of my mouth and just whispered like oh my god.
Trine Køhler

That is pretty amazing footage start to finish. Its great that the people top-side located and assisted so quickly, you never know what kind of damage occurs during a fall such as that, even if his hand was sticking out his spine may have been also, time is critical. I must say, from the limited perspective provided, it looked like a bad situation to put yourself into and maybe was not the best execution. I realize its easy to say from the sidelines, on the internet, but is sounded pretty slabby from the video, like there was a nice dense layer on top. Further, as first rider, he would have benefited from cutting the area first and assessing what happens. Perhaps they dug a pit and things looked stable but from the propagation and pursuant landslide, it looked pretty sketchy- worst nightmare. It is a credit to quick friends who maintain there cool and get there buddies out quickly and its really balls that dude maintain his breathing and patience- i probably would have hyperventilated. Also makes you consider the avalung, looks like his quick thinking and preparation helped keep air in his lungs...
