    good luck with the weight loss. i cut out processed foods and junk and just ate whole foods. started running, it got addictive...weight dropped off. still drink and eat crap at weekends.

    you keep running from your kitchen to your office like that and you won't need to do any additional exercise. maybe you should call yourself sxercise phil from now on!

    Fun fact: I just sat down after getting back from the gym. I pulled up phillyd.tv to see what I've missed over the last few days. I wanted to start from the most recent vid since my last visit, but before I scrolled down from the top vid, I made a mental comment to myself that Phil looked like he had lost a pound or two. You hear/read that Phil? I noticed your sxe-ness increase before I knew you were making the effort. So, then I watched the (20) video and said, "well you're off to a good start".
    Cutting out the soda is a very good call, and your comments in this most recent video are spot on. I'm back from a month of bad health decisions, hopefully come May 1st we will both have met our goals. I also look forward to joining the ranks of your forum.

    Having more then just one video a day would be awsome,It doesnt have to be everyday but i think you should adress really important topics once in a while,and try to make a diffrence,

    and my friend was really chubby even tho he played basket ball every day then i told him to stop drinking soda and he lost 30 pounds

    Way to NOT be a statistic Phil! I'm glad you're getting healthy (inside and out). Just say no to preventable chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes!

    My 2ยข: Because individual effort can only take you so far... Consider the environment you're in and how it may be contributing to your increased body mass.

    Also, "You Can Heal Your Life" is a book that helps with the mental stuff. You seem like you have a pretty positive disposition, but check it out anyway.

    Lastly, check out hot yoga and cycling classes. You can burn some WICKED amount of calories. I find that exercise classes make time go by faster than doing cardio alone.

    I don't mean to be shallow, but I have to ask. Why is your polo buttoned up all the way? I didn't know that people did that. I always thought that you were supposed to leave one button open... Anyway, I'm glad that you're off to a good start with the whole losing twenty by May 1st deal. Keep it up. Soon you'll be even sxe-ER. ;)

    Cutting out the soda will help a LOT. Just stick to your one or two coffees and all will be good. As long as you don't load it up with sugar and milk. :)

    Keep some veggies by the computer to munch on as well. Eat little portions frequently.. NEVER EVER EVER let yourself get to the starving point. eat eat eat. just eat good (as close as you can get from the ground) things.

    Hey - love the show! Nice to hear that you are starting to take the fitness journey :)

    I am a personal trainer with a daily fitness show - pop by the site sometime - I am adding tips and new workouts all the time - plus there is a lot of info about burning body fat and building lean muscle - key things for making sure that you don't loose fat and muscle - loosing fat is cool, but if you just diet or do too much cardio you will loose muscle which you definitely want to avoid because it will slow down your metabolism until it runs like molasses :)
    Anyway like I said - love the show!

    Too true drinking less soda is awesome i drank so much soda moved on to Iced tea and felt better but have a can every now and again but I can't drink just Iced tea...I gotta get a new heather drink lol.

    Great to see you back - and the site in a greater design.

    Also glad to hear that your workout works out (haha ;-) ). I also do some kind of a workout. I train my pectoral muscles for being stronger and my abdominals to get my abdomen more slender. So I'm with you - with my lowly training schedule... Keep it up!

    And do not button your shirt completely up. A few buttons off looks cooler and more sxe-er, so more like the style of the Great Leader of the DeFranco-Nation.

    And just a random question: every time I try to give a reply, it won't work. All the comment just vanish (is it becaus I'm a guest?)

    I think it's great that your doing all this work on the website, and putting all this time in to improve it, but isn't it slightly pointless? Didn't you say back in september(ish) that you were going to stop making videos september(ish) 2009? I really do hope you keep doing videos because i think they're fantastic, but it just sounds like your wasting a rather large portion of your time.

    Dude that's awesome that you are getting into shape and focusing on your health. lemme know if you need any advice or have any questions about free weight training. I have been weight lifting for many years and I have learned quite a few things (what not to do, and what works). Not saying i know everything but i definitely have some quality information to offer

    Awesome that you're trying to be healthier. I let go of Soda last August..the caffeine headaches are the worst, it's good that you have coffee to hold you. I too lost weight w/out exercise, so congrats on losing your 4lbs!

    Hey Phil - think about this with regard to youtube, I was watching you via you tube - since it has been less than reliable of late it has caused me and I'm sure others to find your site and register. So in some ways it could be viewed that their inability to deliver has gained you more hits on your own site.

    On saterday March 21 i went on a 20 mile hike(it was on a bike trail) and lost 10 pounds no lie i even ate a hole bag of chex mix. U should try doing that. Just take your time and get real thick socks. Mabe bring a buddy to keep u destracted it will make it go alot faster!!!!!

    Congrats on losing weight already! I just wanted to let you know that my boyfriend introduced me to your videos on youtube about a month or so ago and...well, I just keep watching the vids you put up and a lot of the old ones because you make me laugh A LOT. And now my bf thinks I'm in love with you [not really; he's just jealous because I don't laugh that much at him]. Keep being sarcastic, because it makes the pain of the shitty world hurt less for everyone.

    hell yeah phill , i weighed in at 205.6 on march 1st , i cut out all pop and junk food/fast food/i.e mcd's burger king ect . its march 24 and im down to 192.6 . with some gym in there , keep it up

    I'm unsure of the accuracy of paragraph 3 on, but the first 2 paragraphs are a good summary.

    Also, it's good to drink a half liter right when you wake up:
    Some reputable study showed if you drink at least 16oz of water right when you wake up, it boosts your motabalism by like 20% for about an hour and some smaller percenage for a few more hours. To explain why, the article compared 8 hours of sleep to working a moderately strenuous job for 8 hours. If you didn't drink anything during that shift you would be parched. Same thing with sleep because your body is working all that time.

    Try just getting healthy rather than thin, when you're healthy you can do what you want, says me, the fat smoker who hasn't done propper exercise since before christmas (bloody summer sports).
